I feel like shredding bumper stickers. Anyone else? |

I saw this one today.
"If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a soldier."
What a load of arrogant, ethnocentric, xenophobic drivel. I can think of plenty of things for which I can thank a soldier but English as my native tongue is not really one of them. Which soldiers should I thank anyway, the Continental army or the British regulars?
I'd like to see one that says:
"If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can translate this into another language you're probably not a far right-wing nut." ;)

We were never in danger of conquest by non-English speakers. Britain twice, and ourselves once.

3. Facts are lost on the koolaid drinkers. |

One comment on a bumper sticker site said, "Well if Kerry had his way we'd all be speaking Vietnamese or French." What a dumbass! Damn I hope it's not my dentist or the guy who services my car. Could be anybody though. Ouch!
