1. It's 38 degrees here in the Atlanta area.
But I'm not complaining. I hate summer and love the cold.

13. Our summers are nothing compared to summers in South Florida
where I lived most of my life. Atlanta weather is heaven compared to there.

24. You couldn't pay me to live in Florida (no offense to those who do)
Between the humidity, the insects and the dozens of hurricanes every year--not to mention Jeb Bush. Just not my cup of tea.

15. I don't sleep with the windows open anywhere either.
Even in small town Amurka, it's dangerous to sleep with any part of your home unsecured. I wouldn't trust these rednecks where I live as far as I could throw them and I couldn't throw them at all. Been trying for years and losing every battle with them. No way I'd leave my windows open for them to steal my few valuables.

11. Yes, thank GOD!
I finally got out in the backyard yesterday to clean up the remnants of it.

I was unable to garden from late May until now, and it shows. My poor herb garden, and my other babies  ! Last summer it was beautiful and now this! MS sucks.

At least I am able to do some fix-it work now. It was absolutely GORGEOUS yesterday. I need to buy some mums to liven things up before the party.

7. It's in the forties here and I'm lovin' it
The crazy hurricane season (in part) kept it miserably hot down here (as in miserably hotter than the usual miserable hotness!) until mid-October, so I'm loving the sudden turn to cold weather. I'm hoping it stays like this and we get a true winter this year. Of course, I'm very much a cold weather lover (yet another reason I'm not sure why I'm living in this Gawd-forsaken state) so I'm a bit biased. I guess not feeling it much makes me like it more than most.

cold and rainy and it snowed on Monday! Yuk.

Couse this is Pittsburgh, where seeing the sun is often a point of confusion for people.. "What is that glowing orange light in the sky?"

;)

23. I went to P-town on vacation and it rained the entire week
The day we were leaving I got up and looked out the window, called up my friend and asked "what is that big yellow thing in the sky". It was the first time we'd seen the sun in 8 days.

here. I hate the cold. It hurts. My skin cracks open. I already have one crack. I don't need all my skin to crack and blister and hurt and bleed.

I miss summer already too.

16. Not that this is a contest I want to win but...
This reminds of those contests you get into with other people to see whose health or whatever is the worst.

This morning the temp was 24F here in Michigan. We may get into the 40's today. And its been pretty warm here.

18. Buncha wimps
It's been mid-30s here (St. Paul, MN) every morning this week, and it's been wonderful.

Today, it's going to get "warm"-- into the 60s. But otherwise, it's been mid-50s for high temps all week.

After the freakishly unseasonal 90s we had in September, I'll take this weather any day! :hi:

20. My only guess is the urban effect
lots of big building giving off heat, clustered together.

It won't last, though. We'll be -20°F in another 60 days. :P

25. In NJ it has rained almost all month and been in the 40's daytime
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 10:19 PM by DainBramaged
After a terribly dry and wicked hot humid summer, it is now 41.7 degrees when it should be 50-55 overnight and 60-65 during the day.

We had no spring. It was cold and wet through May and BOOM, heat in June, July, August and September.

I too want my summer back. For 52 more days we lose a minute a day of daylight, and the clocks kick back this weekend.

I hate this time of year. The immediate prospect is snow and cold. I will not be happy until February when I know that the next month promises the sun will begin to get warm as I gaze at it.

26. In Jersey here too....
You're right, and I hate it!

I won't be satisfied until April--that's when we turn the clocks forward I think. It's not even that it's freezing that gets me. It's that it's freezing and dark.

I had to get up at 3 in the morning for a job for a few months, and that disgusting feeling is the same feeling I get in the winter. Yuck.
:(
