How does one become a Notary Public? |
|
I'm sick of having to go to Notaries all the time, and especially getting people from work to go to whereverthehell to get stuff notarized that I need to file this or that.
So how hard is it to get certified or whatever. And can one notarize one's one signature?
Any tips would be appreciated!

1. Can't notarize your own, nor your immediate family |
|
I believe you apply, pay a fee and take an oath. Here is more info http://www.nationalnotary.org/howto/index.cfm?text=howtoNotary

Gah on the not notarizing your own signature, though.

What? Your laughing because I found three people to say I am of good character, aren't you?
Stop it.
It's not funny.
I'm telling.

5. What's the deal with the bond? |
|
I don't actually have to come up with $15,000 do I? I have no idea how bonds like this work.

6. I think it depends on the state you live in |

I paid $40-45. Took a test and swore to uphold the laws of the state I live in and the US constitution. That was it. The test wasn't too hard but mine was all essay questions so if they give you a booklet to study, do it. :hi:
on edit: Basically a notary is stating that the person who came before them stated something was true.
