Anna Nicole Smith's Dogs Boycott Iams...
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 02:43 PM by xultar
NEW YORK -
Anna Nicole Smith's dogs are boycotting pet food maker Iams.

Smith's protesting pooches are refusing dog food from Iams in a new advertisement for PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

"Marilyn, Sugar Pie and Puppy are boycotting Iams until it stops testing on animals in labs," the poster reads beneath a picture of Smith, a former Playboy model, and her three dogs.

PETA claims an undercover investigation in 2002 and 2003 revealed "deplorable" conditions in Iams' contract laboratory. The group said at least 27 dogs were killed, and listed abuses including cramped conditions and having dogs' vocal cords removed to prevent barking.

4. IAMS has funded some pretty cruel stuff
" Our investigator found dogs who had gone crazy from intense confinement in barren steel cages and cement cells, dogs who had been left on a filthy paint-chipped floor after chunks of muscle had been hacked from their thighs, dogs who had been surgically debarked, and horribly sick dogs and cats who were languishing in their cages, neglected and left to suffer without veterinary care. 7. IAMS is evil.
After I saw that video, there was no way in HELL my dawgies were going to help pay for that.

We buy "Three Dog Bakery" dry food. Much healthier. Happy dawgies. :)

6. Iams is one of the cruelest companies out there...
I would never recommend buying their products. They have a very cruel and brutal history with regard to how they treat animals.

9. My Dog Eats Eukanuba
... and my vet has no problem with it. She even complimented me on choosing a great product. It's only a dollar a pound (in the 20 lb bags)... so that's about $50 a year in kibble. Not bad.

Low residue. Low gas. Nutritionally complete.

10. Interesting that a PETA ad would feature companion animals.
That sounds like a healthy compromise on a position I disagree with.

Their opposition to animals as pets, I mean. Mine don't get Iams, either.
