Ayyy! The Fonz turns 60 tomorrow

Makes you feel kind of old, doesn't it? Who wants to admit to watching it?

I did, but I liked Richie better.

1. Oh, jeez, and I didn't get him anything!
Couldn't you have said something before the stores closed?

I wanted to be Fonzie when I was a kid. Who didn't?

But the first season's black t-shirted, menage-a-troising, questionable source for DeSoto performance parts Fonzie, not the bearded teacher living above the Cunningham's and thumbing his nose at strippers Fonzie of the latter years.

4. It is actually winter fever...
Since everyone was conceived either in February or March before the start of spring.

The great story of this is my sister, who was born November 3 (same day as my father...but 34 years later). My parents had been married for almost 10 years and had not been able to conceive. This was February of 1944 and my father was in the Army and about to ship to Europe. They spent two weeks in New York while he was stationed somewhere in New Jersey (forget where...and my mother is asleep) but he was able to sleep off-post at night. They stayed in the Hotel Pennsylvania...across from Penn Station.

My mother conceived during that time. They were ecstatic. The first time our family went to New York, we stayed at the same hotel. By then it was the Statler Hilton...but I read recently that it is again the Hotel Pennsylvania. An older building, but I guess the property has been kept up. We giggled at the thought of staying where my sister was conceived.

I was conceived in what is now a park.

Sorry, admins and mods! This is not a sex thread, but a family history thread. The park at the time was a veterans' housing project where my parents and sister lived.

5. Happy Birthday Fonzie!
from "The Wedding Singer":

Robbie: That's it, man, starting right now, me and you are going to be free and happy the rest of our lives!
Sammy: I'm not happy. I'm miserable.
Robbie: Wha - what?
Sammy: See... I grew up idolizing guys like Fonzie and Vinnie Barbarino because they got a lot of chicks. You know what happened to Fonzie and Vinnie Barbarino?
Robbie: Yeah, I read that Fonzie wants to be a director and Barbarino, I think... the mechanical bull movie? I didn't see it yet.
Sammy: Their shows got canceled. Because no one wants to see a fifty-year-old guy hitting on chicks.
