Help wanted - need a stove
My partner's mom lives just outside of Ft. Lauderdale, she still has no power and she says she was told there would be no power for at least another 2 weeks.

Getting gas for the car is still a problem, and most of the stores have been stripped bare.

We were going to send her a propane camp stove (small table-top model) - so at least she can heat up some water or make a small hot meal for herself. However - we can't ship the propane cannisters, and Mom-in-law checked into getting the cannisters locally but there are none to be found. (Ditto on charcoal - we had suggested a hibachi or similar type grill)

I've been searching the web looking for a battery-powered grill or hot plate -- the only place I found one is factory shipped from China and it will take 3-4 weeks to get to her.

Anyone know of such a thing?

1. Coleman
My Coleman Peak One served me well on many climbs in the Pacific NW Cascade Mountains, including Mount Rainier, twice. Plus, it makes a great tailgating appliance. They now have have multi-fuel versions that run on pretty much anyting, though not as efficiently.

White gas is also useful for jump starting campfires. You can't do that with propane, butane, or any other "bastard" gas.

3. Suggestion:
I work for a Senior Meal Program - and feel confident that the ones near 'Mom-in-law' are back to functioning. If they are not, they have volunteers who will help her get what she needs in order to have hot food. I can't fit the link in this post. I googled "Meals on Wheels Ft. Lauderdale area" and a map came up with many locations, addresses and phone numbers. Good luck!
