CAN YOU FIND THE KITTY?

half-awake this morning - I wondered why one of the logs suddenly had fur....

This is Kudra, she's the grand dame of the house, 19 years old, snowshoe-kitty

2. kinda funny story about cats and wood stoves
when my grandparents first immigrated, they lived outside of Pittsburg in a coal mining village.

the heat/cooking source was a wood stove. during the day, my grandmother would keep the stove at a low burn with the cook part of the oven door open, and fire it up the other side when she was ready to cook

one day their cat climbed into the oven, it was nice and warm. at some point my grandmother decided it was time to start dinner - she closed the oven door (not realizing the cat was in there) and fired up the stove

a few minutes later she heard yowling, she opened the door and out came the cat. no burns on the cat, but it's fur was singed off over most of it's body.

since it was winter, and cold - she crocheted a body suit for it until the fur grew back in

8. Oh, my! Shoes IS gorgeous!
A number of years ago, our Siamese cat crawled into the clothes dryer. My ex-mother-in-law, not knowing he was there, loaded the dryer with wet laundry and turned it on. All of a sudden there was, "Thump, thump, mrow! Thump, thump, mrow!"

It took her a bit to figure out what had happened, but when she opened the dryer door, kitty came flying out, his hair all raised.

He didn't suffer any burns or anything, but he didn't go near the laundry room again for several days.

:silly:

9. love them lavender-blue eyes...
Kudra's eyes are that too!

Does Raphael sing? Kudra gives us a concert every couple of weeks, she serenades us as she wanders though the house.

She also talks. Drop something on the floor and she says "uh-oh". I something is spilled on the floor she says "oh no".

at other times she'll wander through the house saying "hello". A trip TO the vet is punctuated with "out now" and "no" - on the way back it's "Home now"
