Did I luck out at Value Village or what?
I'm getting some good deals at second hand stores here.

Got a nice new pair of black slacks for 7 bucks. Right size, in PETITE..(I've got short legs, so bonus)

A while back got an awesome pair of practically new jeans, hemmed to the perfect length for me. Again for 7 bucks. Got a great sweater than everybody complimented me on.

I'm never so lucky in most stores! haha.

just thought I would share. :)

3. We don't have them here, fecking Red county in NJ
they'd light a thrift store on fire first. Garage sales get me some nice stuff. Nice pair of trail shoes for $2, unused, my size, box said $39.95, and a rubber lined raincoat perfect, little cut by the pocket, 50 cents this summer. Tough otherwise.

Amazing isn't it. We're proud of being able to save money, no shame in NOT being rich. Fecking Corrupt Conservative Propagandists where I live probably spend more money on diets and crap than helping those that don't have. They see people who look poor and call the cops on them, even adults who are homeless and have them taken out of THEIR town.

I have to stop, very angry now.

7. I love to hear that. But isn't it shameful that that beautiful sink
was a trasher if it didn't sell?

8. i expect in the salvage yard SOMEONE would have picked it up
eventually. this place has all the salvaged building materials from when folks re-model

they have dozens of complete kitchen cabinet sets and lots of doors and windows and such, which is why I went there trolling for a new kitchen sink hehe

2. Cool!
I just got two new (to me) pair of jeans for $4 each on Friday and today I went to Big Lots and made out like a bandit buying underthings. :)

I love shopping but I hate spending a lot of money, so I love thrift stores and discount places.

4. Value Village is a gold mine.
It's sometimes hard for me to find anything (I'm short). However, there is usually always something there to find.

11. Thanks.
I usually don't have pictures in my sigline, but I figure I should make a contribution to the Halloween spirit. ;)

12. Got a call from hubby one day...WHAT a GREAT LAMP at the thrift
store. Go to the bank at lunch time, get money and BRING IT TO ME..(a 15 mile ride I might add)..NO says I, I will go to the bank after work and cash a check and if the lamp is still there and if I believe it is worth it, I wil buy it. NO says he, it will be gone by then!..Oh, well, says I.

Well to make a very long story short for $14.99 I found a lamp that must be from the 1920's..Art Neuvo one that was converted from oil to electric. Mother of pearl designs on a tortise shell bowl...I do believe I saw the match to that lamp in the movie 'Bugsy'..

14. speaking of thrift store lamp scores......
got this one for $18. halogen, HEAVY thick glass, must be worth at least $250 to buy it new. it was stuck behind a bunch of old rickety torchiere floor lamps. I freaked out and starting digging to get to it, hubby's like "What do you want with that broken floor lamp?"

16. I rarely have luck at Value Village for clothes
I've found some great looking items, but always in the wrong size. x( It seems like anything over a size 8 (I'm a 10) are clothes you'd only paint or garden in.

They don't tend to dust at the one near me, either, so I can barely see out of my puffed up eyes by the end of my visit.

Household items are another story, though. I could redecorate my whole place for $50. :-)

17. I got a great costume there last Halloween
I got decked out as Indy Jones, shirt, pants, shoes, leather jacket, for 20 bucks. Not the hat though, I went to a western wear store and got a really nice one.
