Yay, with new monovision contacts, I can read the computer
screen without reading glasses.

The saga of my search for a way to not wear glasses has been interesting.

Started out with bifocal contact lenses. Don't work too well for close up or computer stuff, so I picked up a pair of $9 reading glasses. So I am still wearing glasses...

Optometrist also gave ma a single vision lens to try in one eye, with bifocal in other eye. So I put the single lens in right eye, which was what I thought she wanted me to do, and was disappointed.

At the 2 week followup, I had a bifocal in left eye and the single vision lens in right...dr mentions the asitmatism correction in the single vision lines, and did I think it helped at all...
Turns out the single vision lens is for the LEFT eye, which has the astigmatism. So we switched them out in the office, I read the charts again,, and she decided to try me with a single vision in the right eye, for near vision. The left eye corrects distance and astigmatism.

Well, no wonder I didn't see any results, I had a Toric lens for astigmatism in the eye which has no astigmatism at all.

Currently, I ahve the two monovision lenses in and can see the computer screen fairly well. My screen is farther from my face than my work computer, so I am looking forward to testing this combination out at work.

She also gave me another bifocal lens with a stronger near vision correction to try in the right eye, just for comparison. We can keep tweaking this until we get it right then order the lenses. I am so pleased that I can get rid of glasses, Ijust hate them pressing on my head, my nose, getting dirty, etc.
