Dealing drugs on CNN (Lunesta) |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 12:38 AM by Check12
Have you seen these commercials? Ask your doctor about Lunesta to help you get a good nights sleep (sedative!) advertising sedatives on television. And the disclaimer that they always put in the end says "do not operate motor vehicles or heavy machinery. Lunesta could lead to dependence" (really?) That means you sell more pills right? The first one is free.
Unbelievable!

Most drugs which help with sleep disorders have the potential to be addictive.
This is really not something worth losing your feathers over.

3. Any drug that can turn someone into an addict |
|
Should not be sold until they can be safe from that affliction.

Most capable are making that distinction for themselves. When is the last time you heard that Lunesta or Ambien addicts were breaking into pharmacies? Like Oxycontin addicts?
Doctors aren't going to prescribe drugs which are going to disrupt your sleep cycles to that degree. But drugs which enable a patient to get to sleep are potential life savers.

But that doesn't give free reign to drug companies to shill their shit without a thought to the consequences.

8. I understand the need for treatment of sleep disorders |
|
But that treatment should never be advertised on television. The advertiser is attempting to convince a patient that they have a problem and need the fix, they are attempting to take qualified physicians out of the loop. Sorry, You can not spin it, it's wrong!

2. I always found it funny |
|
How Bush and his buddies made a big deal about "Are Canadian drugs safe" when you can't even buy half that shit I see advertised on US tv because the drugs aren't safe enough for Canadian Standards.

4. These commercials have always infuriated me. |

and what's worse is that we still call marijuana an illegal drug. I don't think I'll ever figure us Amerikans out.

5. I hate (and I use the term hate with great difficulty) these fucking |
|
pharma corps and how their marketing departments prey upon the weak, ill, and plain stupid.
Ask your doctor if pure cow urine is right for you. And don't forget to check our new monkey semen, it may just help.
HELP WHAT? These fuckers never tell the truth, dirt bag scum fucks.
