|
personal destruction, as typically practiced by LIEbruls.
1. Yes
2. A pirate, I think; but I really don't know.
3. Maybe 2nd grade? I know I was allowed to go even without my older sister by 4th grade. I might have gone sans parents even as young as Kindergarten, since I had an older sister.
4. CIRCUS FUCKING PEANUTS!!!!!! Even worse than popcorn balls.
5. Yes.
6. 6th grade was probably my last time.
7. Yes. I stapled a bread bag to my shirt and went as a loaf of bread. And no, I didn't win. Even in grad school, most people don't get art.
8. That Christian Fundie shitbags will continue to destroy this country until we're pummeled back to the 10th century with feudal overlords and a corrupt church.
9. No.
10. I believe it took my niece and nephew their Christmas, and then their Easter, visits to finally finish it off.

1. Did your parents allow you to go out and trick-or-treat? Yes. My neighborhood was semi-rural, so we went out every year. WAY out sometimes-- like a mile or two, because our neighbors were so spread out.
2. What was the first halloween costume you ever wore? 2 years old, I was a ghost. My mom put a pillowcase over my head and cut out two eyeholes.
3. How old were you when you first when Trick-or-Treating without your parents going along with you? Actually, I don't my mom never went out with me. We were pretty safe in my neighborhood, so I was on my own (with friends) at age five or six.
4. What was the worst thing you ever got for a treat? Probably those sugarless hard candies, back in the 1970s. Those were gross.
5. Confess - did you ever TP or Egg a house Yes, but not on Halloween. Too many people around. However, we did squirt jack-o-lanters with gasoline-filled squirt guns. THAT was always exciting.
6. How old were you when you quit going out for trick-or-treating (excluding going out with your kids) Eleven. I was a mummy that year, and my costume kept on falling apart (home-made from a torn-up sheet).
7. Did you ever enter a Halloween Costume Contest and what was your costume. Did you win a prize Three years ago, at work. I was Ozzy Osbourne. I had hair down to the middle of my back then, so I dyed it black for the day. I am also physically a lot like Ozzy, and can do his voice pretty well, too. And yes, I won first prize. :)
8. What is the one thing that scares you the most? Ignorance. No question about that. Death doesn't scare me, nor does fear of bodily harm. People's ignorance of the world around them, though,... that scares me shitless.
9. Halloween decorations - could I tell from your front lawn/front door that you're celebrating halloween? No. I'm in a small apartment in a small building and don't have room for decorations. Plus, it's a secured building so I doubt I'll get any trick-or-treaters. Although I will have my orange lava lamps on...
10. How long did the halloween candy last after halloween? What time is it?

we also used to soak tennis balls in gasoline, light them, and play soccer. Of course this was in the 1970s when most of us were also wearing polyster pants, too.
Yeah, buncha rocket scientists we were. Sometimes I think it's a miracle we even lived to adulthood. :silly:

1. Yes 2. First ever I don't know. The first one I recall was Rainbow Brite. 3. 23. As a kid we always had a parent with us until we got too old to trick or treat. 4. Black licorice. :puke: 5. Yes, I did. Not on Halloween, we snuck out from my birthday sleepover and TP'd a friend's house. 6. eleven 7. No. 8. I am terrified of heights. 9. No. I was too busy to decorate this year. 10. My Dad always made us give it away because he thought sugar made my sister hyperactive.

1. Did your parents allow you to go out and trick-or-treat? - Yup. I lived in the 1970s, well-integrated version of a Norman Rockwell painting. :)
2. What was the first halloween costume you ever wore? - I think I was a clown.
3. How old were you when you first when Trick-or-Treating without your parents going along with you - probably about 10 or so, but even then we went with a big group of kids from the neighborhood
4. What was the worst thing you ever got for a treat - a toothbrush
5. Confess - did you ever TP or Egg a house - I plead the 5th
6. How old were you when you quit going out for trick-or-treating (excluding going out with your kids) - I think about 16, although the year I was 18 my little brother went out to hit our band director and some teachers' houses. I had a term-paper to write but I gave him a signed "affidavit" that he was authorized to collect candy for me. The teachers thought it was a hoot.
7. Did you ever enter a Halloween Costume Contest and what was your costume. Did you win a prize - never entered and never won. I did take second place in a pumpkin decorating contest when I was in elementary school...my pumpkin was Laura Ingalls complete with yarn braids and a bonnet.
8. What is the one thing that scares you the most - rats
9. Halloween decorations - could I tell from your front lawn/front door that you're celebrating halloween - I live in an apartment so I help my best friend decorate the yard at her house instead. I have a 3 foot tall light up alien that we dress up every year. She has temporary custody.
10. How long did the halloween candy last after halloween? - Depends on the year. If the weather was bad on Halloween and people really wanted to get rid of candy...it could last til xmas.

1. Did your parents allow you to go out and trick-or-treat? Yes.
2. What was the first halloween costume you ever wore? I don't really remember so I'm going to lie and say a Ninja Turtle, haha. (Wasn't my firsst one, but it's the earliest one I remember.)
3. How old were you when you first when Trick-or-Treating without your parents going along with you 11, I think. Before that my cousin would usually take me out.
4. What was the worst thing you ever got for a treat Apples were always really lame.
5. Confess - did you ever TP or Egg a house Alas, I did not. I did kinda get TPed myself though. The last time I went out trick-or-treating, my friend and I were walking back to his house, these dipshits drove by, threw a roll at me, hit my hand and made me drop my bag. It was pretty funny though, because I mean, how often do you hear about drive-by TPing?
6. How old were you when you quit going out for trick-or-treating (excluding going out with your kids) 16 was the first year I didn't go out, because my friends forgot me. So I started handing out treats that year and never bothered with going out afterwards.
7. Did you ever enter a Halloween Costume Contest and what was your costume. Did you win a prize Went to one Saturday night. We were dressed as the Ghostbusters (my three roommates and I), but we got there too late for eligibility, because one of my roommates got all whiney and didn't want to go down there early. He now admits that we had potential to at least place.
8. What is the one thing that scares you the most I'm not easily scared. Losing my ability to see or hear are both pretty scary.
9. Halloween decorations - could I tell from your front lawn/front door that you're celebrating halloween Yeah, usually. Not this year though, we were too cheap to buy decorations.
10. How long did the halloween candy last after halloween? THree or four weeks, maybe.

(albeit in the same order as your questions)
1. Yes 2. I don't remember the first, but the first one I remember (and isn't THAT a convoluted phrase) was a clown costume my mother made for me. I wore it for years. 3. Probably about seven. Nobody worried too much about that when I was little. 4. Lady down the street always made divinity and popcorn balls, which my mother always made me throw out, even though she was a sweet little old lady. My mother was paranoid before paranoid was cool. 5. TP, yes, but not for Halloween 6. Sixteen. Yes, 16. I was really little for my age. 7. Yes - I borrowed one of my sister's bellydance costumes (she was a professional dancer). I didn't win a prize, but I've never been hit on so much in my LIFE. 8. Republican control of Congress. Oops! 9. nope, not this year - I'm running for office, and I don't have time to decorate. 10. Usually about a week, if I hide it from my stepsons. This year, they're out of the house finally (HOORAY!) so it might last longer. If my stepsons knew where the bowl was, it'd disappear by November 1.
