My guy at my local mall costs a fortune - I think $40-$50 for new soles and heels. Depends on the shoe or boot if it's worth it. For expensive boots it's well worth it. For Payless, not so much.

4. Cheaper than a new pair of shoes....
... probably about 1/4 to 1/2 the cost of getting new shoes. And if the uppers still look good, then it's worthwhile. By the time the replacement soles and heels wear out, the uppers will be showing their age too.

5. They're hard to find
There used to be a guy on Main Street in my home town - he was there for years. Did a booming business too. But we've become such a disposable society that people would rather throw something out than get it fixed.
