Keep a bottle of alcohol with you, and wipe down ANYTHING you touch immediately after you touch it.
I worked in an office once and a girl there had pinkeye. Within the span of 2 weeks, EVERYONE ELSE got pink eye from her.
So the boss mandated that we constantly wipe down the keyboards, desk-space, telephones AS SOON AS WE GOT DONE USING THEM.
It's VERY contagious.
See your doctor. THey'll give you drops for your eyes, and maybe an antibiotic (depending on how severe it is).
Because your eyes 'leak', especially at night, you may want to wash your pillow cases & blankets & sheets daily. Seriously---if your eye 'leaks' on any of those surfaces, there is a good chance you can re-infect yourself, or infect the other eye :( Also, use a new washcloth when you take a shower--again, any bacteria remaining on the washcloth could reinfect you.
Just be very very careful, and tho it may be embarassing and akward, tell people that you work in close contact with or live with that you have the pink eye so that they can take precautions.
Be warned also that when you wake up in the AM, your eye may have a SERIOUS case of eye-goo-clumping, to the point where your eye may be goo-glued shut. To un-glue it, take a wash-cloth, soak in warm water, and place on your eye for a few minutes to soften the crust, and gently wipe it away. Don't pull it off or anything like that, as you can damage your eye possibly.
Also, make sure the crust is adequately disposed of, and that the washcloth you used is immediately dispatched to the nearest clothes-hamper.
Good luck!
On edit---as someone above stated, pinkeye is generally viral, so the antibiotics are generally only given if you have an infection stemming from the pinkeye (torn cornea from scratching, infected skin around eyelid from scratching, etc)
