I apologize profusely if this isn't a proper venue for this kind of message, and doubly so because I've never written anything like it before :) It's just that job is sending me to San Jose for all of November, possibly longer. I'll be half the world away from home, which is Poland - a temporary escapee from a country overrun by rabid rightwingers in both parliamentary and presidential elections last month. (You guys may well be closer to the end of the residency, while we're only two weeks into the mess and things are already looking abject for progressives.)
