What were the Queen and the First Lady thinking?
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 03:51 PM by Cleita

Yup. Time for another fashion bash. My mother had a suit like Laura's back in the forties, which she accessorized with a print scarf, an attractive hat and gloves, not to mention just the right touch of tasteful jewelry . Laura looks like she should grab a sales book and start writing a receipt for the Queen's hat.

And what is it with the Queen's hat? I mean this is the absolute worst I have ever seen. Does she intend to wear that for tea with the Presidential couple? Is the mad hatter and Alice invited?

So now I need a saucer of milk.

4. The Queen kind of has a "Stop Making Sense" padded jacket look going
You know, like that jacket that David Byrne of the Talking Heads wore during his Stop Making Sense tour. The jacket was oversized and it made his head look tiny.

5. Geezus
I think Laura needs some "Queer eye for the straight woman"!!! Slap some highlights into that hair baby!!! Throw on a flashy red dress and you will be sizzlin'!!

That is just my reccomendation for Laura.

10. ROFL! When I saw the Queen's hat I thought "Mad Hatter" and wondered
if it was some sort of joke to show her disapproval of Shrub. They say she has a great sense of humor, unlike what she seems in public.

Laura's suit has a real 50's look to it. But, then that's the era they admire the most.....she and shrubby so it's sort of in keeping.

11. If Laura put a print scarf with a pin around the neck
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 04:12 PM by Cleita
instead of Barbara Bush's pearls, and if she wore a hat, even a Jackie Kennedy style pill box hat, and some gloves, she would looked dressed like a First Lady, not any office cube worker.

It's really disgraceful, especially to meet a figurehead of state, like the Queen, without taking into consideration the protocol of the country being visited. And, don't say it's because they are Texans. I have met plenty of Texans who know how and when to dress for the occasion.

15. Definitely. She is dressing far too timid and it shows that.............
she has no confidence. It also shows that she is taking a "back seat" to hubby in case he feels that she is trying to upstage him, unlike Diana/Charles, Jackie O/Kennedy - both of these wives had no problems showing off.

14. What are ya'll talkin' about?
I think they both look nice. The queen looks awesome. Everything works. That hat is so much fun. And that color she's wearing is amazing. Bush lady would look stupid in a hat, and she'd be too tall to stand beside the queen. that outfit is plain and that's okay, it is at least figure flattering.

...am I turning gay all of a sudden? <G>

18. Either...
"What are we doing married to these morons?!
or
"What the hell does one have to do to get a drink/pills/cocaine round here?"
or
"I got my job because my parents were stinking rich ultra ring-wing manipulative bastards - how did you get yours?"

25. The queen has "style"
so even though I don't particularly like it, I admire her for sticking with it..........and the hat ia a gas! But Laura..............she looks quashed and overmanaged, as usual. If I knew that this look of hers was her idea, I might change my mind, but I don't think it is..........couldn't be!! I'm sure she is dressed so that not the slightest whisper will ever emerge 'bout her duds, and I do mean DUDS!
