Techheads! Help with DU and IE! |
|
For some reason, DU slows to a crawl when I have active scripting enabled. I disable it, and all is perky again. This has happened only in the last couple of weeks. Any clue why? Most other sites run okay with scripting enabled.

Do you have an anti virus software that includes script scanning software?
If you have one, try turning off the anti virus software then see if you still have a problem. If you don't have a problem when anti-virus is off then it is probably a combination of the anti-virus software and IE. You should go the the website for the anti-virus software and check for updates.
Also, you should go to Micro$oft and get all the latest windows and IE updates.

The latest update to IE 6 has a glitch built in. It messes up the scrolling somehow when you're using the mouse. On Edit: Link Here: http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,4149,1382912,00.asp

Thanks--have tried your suggestions. Turning off the anti-virus scanner doesn't result in improvement of performance. Also, I have committed the latest "security updates" to no avail. I have resisted upgrading to IE 6 on 2000, because of the stories I've heard, but maybe it works okay with XP (which I can also do). The thing is, all was well until a couple of weeks ago.
