I've been in an Ab-Fab mood these past few days, sweetie-darlings! |
|
Haven't been feeling so great, so I've been in bed a lot, running every damn episode of that wonderful show! God, it's been a while, so it's like it's new again. Hee-larious!

Cheers joey!

I'm celebrating this coming weekend. It wasn't awful--watched Ab-Fab with the cats, got some presents and phone calls. Could have been worse.
Thanks for asking!

...the last series was rather a disappointment--too many celebrity guest stars!
I tend to think the second series was the best--Edina and Patsy had absolutely NO redeeming characteristics then! They were vile and I loved it.

that the episode Bubbles was dressed like a dutch girl? LOL. When she brought the lapso to the house instead of a laptop. I LOVED Bubbles. I also loved Patsy's boss although half the time I couldn't understand a word she said.
I really need to buy all the episodes.

Apparently the actress who played Patsy's sister had a role on Dr. Who for quite some time, so for British audiences it was an inside joke to see her as Jackie. Apparently she was evil on Dr. Who.

It's Patsy and Edina.
No, I never saw that episode! Damn!
Apparently Roseanne bought the US rights to the show--and, yes, it never got made here. Once you see it--AND YOU WILL SEE IT--you'll see why they couldn't get away with this stuff on American television.

Their real names are Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders and I think they are far and away the best female comic duo since Lucy and Ethel. The writing on that show is nothing short of brilliant.
I read that Roseanne Barr actually bought the rights to create an American version, but I never saw it developed.
I would love for Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French to "cross the pond" with a new show. Fabulous darling!

35. No, French was the original Saffy in the skit they did for their |
|
show, on which AbFab was based. It was just Mom and daughter arguing, and Patsy was introduced in the series--always played by Joanna Lumley. Danw French really couldn't do Saffy because she was too old!

Dawn French created Eddie and Patsy with Saunders for their show, "French & Saunders," but Joanna Lumley plays Patsy in the series. Dawn French has been a guest star and done some writing, however.
