I lost ten pounds without doing much EXCEPT |
|
I contacted an old flame and got silly again a bit (after 36 years) and thought we could exchange emails but she has NOT responded. There would be nothing risque involved since we have been married to other partners for 25 to 33 years. OK, so maybe I've discovered a way to lose weight. Pine after an old lover and be hypernostalgic and forget to eat much!!

6. Probably not as long an interval though. |

I think I can keep my head. It's different now when I'm a historian. Back then I was a radical and a poet. (I still am a radical).

Back away from the email..danger danger danger
Pining for an old love is futile..They are NOT the idealized version in YOUR mind..and ooooh the baggage:)
Go hug your wife and surprise her with a "kidnap date" or something:)

5. Thanks for your insight and care. |

The situation is a bit more complicated than it appears on the surface. My wife actually doesn't mind my getting in touch with old flames since I am in regular contact as an old pal with a woman in NYC. THIS one is different though and we had actually been engaged at one point and all was very (almost operatically) passionate. I finished the last novel of a trilogy and this woman has arole in it (it's all semiautobiographical) and I thought I'd call her to give her fair warning. And of course found the idea of staying in touch a fascinating one since we had a quite good phone conversation. (Deep sigh). We are both sane people. She's a psychologist and I'm a historian and writer of much other prose and poetry.
