Greatest independent film ever made? |
|
Personally, I've seen most of them...but...for my money... Eraserhead is still the most original film ever made... A masterpiece...still freaks me out... http://www.empireonline.co.uk/features/50greatestindependent/50-41.asp

2. Eraserhead is definitely a classic... |
|
But I think as far as Lynch's films go, Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway are much better. Some good choices on that list though.
No idea what I would consider the greatest, however.

3. Bloody hell that's a hard question |
|
Upon careful consideration (well a minute or two with films flashing through my noggin) I'll say Evil Dead. A pure labour of love project, brilliantly made and very nearly unseen. Plus it inspired a generation of film-makers (and judging by recent efforts like 'Cabin Fever' and 'Shallow Ground' it still does).
re 'Eraserhead' - have you seen 'Tetsuo'? It's a black and white, industrial noise, man vs machine Japanese nightmare. Fantastic stuff - clearly inspired by Lynch and Cronenberg - and the sequel is worth a look too.

5. Eraserhead was the first thing I thought of. |
|
Even after not having seen it for 20 years.
(Best independent comedy/horror MUST go to Bad Taste, Peter Jackson's debut.)
