A girl from my MIDDLE SCHOOL is getting MARRIED.
She showed me the... invitation rough draft today.

OOg.

She's getting married on her sixteenth birthday. She's fifteen right now.

Her... fiancee is eighteen, working at his dads auto shop, and apparently is buying her a 'two thousand dollar ring that's going to be upgraded.'

Is it just me and my friends, or is this a little... wrong?! Her... fiancee is hot, but that's NOTHING! ARGH! She says they're going to get an apartment in the city.

I met her mom yesterday and asked if it was true.

She said that she was picking up her daughter so she could go pick out her dress.

Am I missing something here?!

Her mom is okay with all this.

ACK.

And I'm invited.

Anyhoo, hi! You still hating those Bratz? I went on their site for a few minuets. Disgusted with myself. Must go stand in corner now.

I spouted one too many Star Wars quotes to be healthy today.

Then I watched Kyo Kara Maoh.

Yaoi gives me a case of the giggles, you know.

but I'm not sure. I wouldn't suggest watching that before bedtime or with parents in the room, lots of violence, dismembering, and nudity. If you haven't seen FLCL, that's always good. Oh and Saiyuki! have you seen that?

31. Saiyuki is great
It's based on the "Journey to the West" legend, which is also known as "The Monkey King." It has a very violent Buddhist priest who smokes, drinks and gambles and his companions journeying to the west to find out what is making the yokai lose their minds and kill people.

And how could I ever forget: Noir! If you haven't seen that, that's definitely one to see. It's about two female assassins.

About after fifth grade, if you aren't in the game, you really can't get up again.

10. Many of my aunts were married at 16, and that wasn't so long ago
In the realm of human history, the vast majority of it has been the majority of women marrying at 16 and under.

For today's United States, though, that's a tough one - times aren't as easy as they used to be.

I certianly would never counsel a girl to get married. Hell, I think people should wait until they're 30.

Then, I want to get married to a guy I hopefully met in college. We're not going to have kids and we're going to live in Canada with our three dogs.

I think that most people should wait until they do have good careers, THEN they get married and have kids.

Think about it.

Girls that are that age and younger are getting married around the world.

It is legal. If I ever become president, I think I'd seriously re-work that law.

A couple of girls in my high school got married to escape their family problems. Their husbands and just as many problems as them which was probably the only reason they and their families thought this was a good idea.

54. I have a friend who cried when her husband "upgraded" her wedding set.
She had a really beautiful wedding set. Around their 10th anniversary, he took it to get it "cleaned" and returned with the bigger version of the same set with a much bigger diamond. He surprised her with it, thinking she would be thrilled.

She was not. She loved her original wedding set because it's what he put on her finger on their wedding day. She didn't WANT a new set - she wanted the one that she had attached the sentimental value to.

She was complaining about her in-laws to be, and I said that you're going to be stuck with them for the rest of your life... then, I said if you both truly loved each other, you'd still be in love in 5 years and getting married now or getting married in 5 years won't make a difference to "true love"

At the time, 5 years ago, I was going through a divorce, so I thought I spoke with a little bit of wisdom.

I would say this sort of thing is a bad, bad idea.

Given her comment about the ring, I wonder if she's more into the idea of a wedding or being Mrs. Somebody than the actual marriage itself, which is bound to be a difficult adjustment for her.
