2. I remember that dress...
it was from an old I Love Lucy episode where Lucy and Ethel dress up in gunnysacks. I think she should have added a coonskin cap to complete it ... and of course, white gloves.

The Happy Faces of

Failure

I'm like so glad I wrote Cherie shortly after *'s first visit to Europe ... when part of his things to do was to try and grease the skids for GE's takeover of Honeywell (the EU said "NO") ... and GE retained Cherie as a lawyer to continue the lobbying ... I was appalled and let her know it. She simply had her secretary send a note acknowledging receipt.

Ms. Cherie Blair
10 Downing Street
London SW1A 2AA
The United Kingdom

Dear Ms. Blair

I feel compelled to express my dissent, disappointment and disapproval of Ms. Cherie Booth Blair being retained by one of the world's most powerful corporations, GE, to continue its push to own Honeywell despite the EU's "no". This is really a battle about sovereignty, isn‘t it; and, no one speaks for the people?

It makes one wonder if there is any ethics, integrity, if any hope, for the non-corporate world, i.e., people before profits.

Immediately upon hearing the EU’s historic and brave decision, I emailed a compliment for the decision. I thought the EU decision sent a clear message to multi-nationals that things in the 21st century will be dealt with from a different perspective.

When America’s illegitimate appointed “president” speaks of “the first war of the 21st century”, it doesn’t exactly motivate the human spirit, does it? Of course, with that mindset, why not join the corporatism of the world. It’s all about money.

I feel the world and its leaders have gone off the Tyne forth and Cramity, remindful of the blur song, “This is a Low” from the Parklife LP.

Regards,

BRUSSELS, Belgium (October 10, 2001 04:10 p.m. EDT http://www.nandotimes.com) -

General Electric Co. lost the first skirmish when the European Union blocked its bid for Honeywell International. But the company is still pulling out the big guns. Among the international cast of lawyers listed on the appeal filed by GE last month is Cherie Booth, wife of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, according to people who have seen it. Booth, while highly respected, is not known as an antitrust lawyer. She made her reputation in employment law, even taking her husband's government to court over the issue of parental leave. Last year she joined a new firm, Matrix, which specializes in human rights.

Her secretary said Booth could not comment due to client confidentiality. A GE spokeswoman did not immediately return a request for comment Wednesday. During its last attempt to have the merger approved, GE hired Stuart Eizenstat, a former U.S. ambassador to the EU and top Clinton administration official, to lobby on its behalf. The European Commission issued a decision blocking the merger on July 3.

Along with Booth, GE listed seven other prominent lawyers, backed by three separate law firms, on its appeal.

8. The second one
looks like a cardboard cutout of dingleberry. Probably had to go pump a grumpy in the palace or something. Them meat pies are hell on the digestive tract, and we all know how delicate the Bush's tummies are...

Geez, I didn't realize how cold the body language was in those photos! The handholding between Pickles and Shrub MUST have been planned. Apparently Pickles, and Mrs. Poodle don't get along so well. Even the Bush Family Friends don't like them.

10. Cherie is saying:
"Damn you Tony, how could you bring that cowboy and his hick bride here? That wanker has ruined your credibility - and the whole country is laughing at you. How dare you force me to socialize with these ill costumed oafs?"

14. GAD
That is the ugliest dress I've seen on a First Lady ever.

On this trip, I've seen a beige nehru jacket outfit, a burgundy ball gown, an aqua coat dress, and now this brown thing. What next? Pink plaid?

If Tipper Gore were going to England for a state visit, she would have a COORDINATED wardrobe with some taste.

If Mrs. McCain were going for a state visit, we would see elegance worthy of the royals.

Why the hell can't this Republican woman hire someone to choose her clothes for diplomatic occasions? It's embarrassing.
