Mini Dachshunds part 2, thank you posters to part 1
Max, the nine year old mini wiener dog my friend wanted me to adopt has been mine for 24 hours. I wish to thank everyone who replied to my posts about miniature dachshunds in my prior posts. Per your anises I do not allow Max to jump any higher than the one step from the porch to the ground. Max has two bad habits: he is not housebroken very well and he loves to tip over the trash. Via positive reinforcement I will get him to go to the bathroom outside. I had to repuke him on the second by harsh, verbal scolding and putting him in the bathroom and ignoring him for several minutes. I do not give him edible "treats" unless he goes to the bathroom outside, and I exercises him daily. He loves to chase a racquetball across the room and burrow under blankets. Saturday was spent with Max in the garage and me burning brush and using my 8N tractor. Sunday, when I put on the same shoes I wore on Saturday, Max stood on the shoes and tried to grab the laces with his teeth. He did not want me to go outside. This was so funny that between Max and me laughing it took several minutes to put on my shoes. Again, thank you to everyone who gave me several valuable tips on the care of miniature dachshunds. Max and I appreciate it.
