Funny mistranslations of English movie titles... |
|
The Japanese translation of Dr. No literally means "No, I don't want a Doctor."
The Taiwanese add "Devil" before Ah-Nold's movies and "Ultimate" before Bruce Willis' movies. (Die Hard somehow became "Ultimate Cop". Matrix got Hacker Mission, which is suitable, but far too dull.)
Hong Kong got "Killer Network" from "The Matrix". (Again, suitable but dull.)

1. Pepsi ran their "Come Alive With Pepsi" |

ads in Germany (?) a long while ago, and the translations worked out to "Pepsi brings your ancestors back from the grave."
So they had to go with something else.

Coke's worse actually...While Pepsi may just support repukes, Coke also supports Chicoms and right-wing Colubmian paramillitaries.

4. I know about this first hand... |

I'll never forget an old manual I had for the last videocard I owned:
"Congratulation! You are now owing Helios 3D Voodoo 2, King of 3D Game excelerator."
A chapter also discussed "Static Flectricity Convection"
I don't remember everything else, but it was easier to hear an honest sentence uttered by Rush Limbaugh than than it was to find a logical sentence in that manual.
