My cat yelled at me!!
We were having dinner and the cattbutt was doing his usual begging and meow, meow, meow, My wife was having no luck in getting him to stop. So in a loud voice I say { Cat get your ass down) He turned around and looked at me and rather loudly said mmmrroooww, just once. I swear to the Great Spirit, my cat cussed at me and told me to shut my friggin pie hole, I am trying to get some chicken. It was totally weird but cute.

Sebastian Cattbutt. A true SmartAss

DDQM- He got a piece of chicken

1. Arguing with a cat.....
is a sucker bet. A rookie mistake. You will always lose.

Of COURSE he got a piece of chicken. If we'd sent cats after Osama, we'd have found him.

2. Those lippy cats!
Don't you hate it when they get like that?

My cat gets really pissy at me when I don't rush to give her some Temptations (a cat treat). She'll just sit down in front of me and start going "MEOW" loudly. Man, have I spoiled her.

22. Temptations -- your cat eats those things?
My cats won't touch them, and they'll normally eat anything that moves and most things that don't.

3. Mine yell at me all the time
One time I had been out all weekend and came back home and I wanted a shower. The cat came into the bathroom and roared at me for taking a shower all the time I was in the shower. And he's a Siamese so he is LOUD! See I usually shower in the morning before leaving for work and he wanted me to know he would be really pissed if I went out again.

4. CATS RULE....
My five let me know when it's time for dinner.
Phoenecia is the spokescat: "Poppsie (she can call me that because she's SOOOO pretty, and she knows it, that she can get away with being sassy) you and Grammsie fed your fat faces, NOW IT'S TIME FOR US."
I LOVE THEM SOOOO.

16. LOL, my cat Temujin
should get together with your classically name kitties! He's named after Ghengis Khan because he was such a hellion as a kitten (at seven months he still is a hellion, I should say, just a little less so).

You should have an Alexander to go with Bucephalus, and maybe a Caliban to go with Ariel.

7. You had it coming, you know
Cats are always right, especially when they're wrong! Of course he got the chicken.

And you're aware that cats once ruled the world, right? Thing is, they saw it as a losing proposition and abdicated in favor of a lesser species.

8. Tucker, our grey longhaired fluffball,
Edited on Fri Nov-21-03 09:47 AM by thom1102
Is the noisiest cat I have ever known in my life. He also yells at us. If he wants to get into the closet, he will sit in front of it and meow very insistently to get in... He knows of course, it ain't gonna happen, but he still does it anyway. When ever I pick him up, if I cradle him in the crook of my elbow, he gets mad and gives off the most irritated meow you have ever heard, and occasionally a swat to the side of my head, but always without his claws extended. It is totally a warning swat saying "You better put me down or your gonna regret it. See what I can do?"

Calvin, last night did the funniest thing I have ever seen. Normally, as it starts to get later in the evening, he knows it's close to dinner time and he starts following anyone who goes near the kitchen. When we are ready to feed him, we will ask him, "Calvin, are you hungry? Do you want to eat?" and it is asked in a high pitch voice and it's actually really obnoxious, but as soon as he hears the 'eeeeeeeaat" he makes a mad dash to the pantry where his dish is. Well, last night, Jeff and I were watching TV in bed, and Clavin assumed his normal over night position between my covered legs. They hadn't eaten yet, so on the commercial, I got up and put my face right near Calvin, who up to this point hadn't moved, and pet his head a bit and asked him in a very quiet subdued voice "are you hungry?" The instant the word hungry was said, he was up, and off the bed, scrambling for the pantry. Now we had always assumed that it was the obnoxious high pitched noise that had clued him into when it was time to eat, but here it was clear that he understood that are you hungry meant he was gonna get fed. Jeff and I just laughed!

Here is a link to pictures of Calvin, the big white monster, Tucker the gray fluffball, and our deceased Hobbes, Calvin's littermate, who passed away in 2002, from complications from surgery to remove a piece of one of those rabbit fur covered plastic mice they sell from his intestine where it had lodged.

11. Thank you!
I did get very lucky with these guys. I know so many people who have cats who are either mean, or terrified of everything. None of my cats have ever been either (at least not more than any other cat). Thanks for the sympathy for Hobbes as well. He was well loved and well taken care of. I only try to mention what happened as a warning to others about those rabbit fur covered mice with the plastic insides. I don't want anyone to lose a great cat the way I lost Hobbes.

28. OMG! Calvin is HUGE!
His head is so small when compared to the rest of his lovely body!

I have a calico and she is small...I think she may weigh eight pounds but that is about it.

Your other cats are cute as well. Sorry to hear about Hobbes and his untimely demise.

Luckily, of my 4 cats, only the one is a big talker. If 4 of them were trying to tell me something, I would be in big trouble!

15. One of my cats whines without purpose
he just sits there and meow, meow, meow. He gets a little scritchin' and kissin' and keeps on going. He wakes up from a nap and starts in. I don't get it. My others talk when there's a reason -- feed me, love me, etc. Wrigley just talks to be talking. Here he is:

18. I used to have a cat that would swear at us
when we weren't behaving properly -- providing food, cleaning the litter box, letting her outside, whatever. And it was so OBVIOUSLY swearing that we'd always laugh.

This particular cat also had several very distinct and easy to understand meows. One was her name for me. Another was, "I'm hungry, feed me." Also "The litter box is dirty," "The water dish need refilling," perhaps one or two others, And these were distinct from here swearing mentioned above.

We considered those to be language-like vocalizations because they were so distinct in meaning. I suspect a lot of cats and probably dogs also do the same thing, and since the sounds made and meanings intended will be specific to the particular animal, no one has ever been able to any real research about these language precursors.

19. Yankee sasses back whenever she gets in trouble
whenever she gets yelled at to move, or to stop something, or to start something, she gives this whiny little bitchy "mw-mow-meow-mow" that she doesn't do any other time. The MOUTH on that cat!

I remember being at a cat show one time and the judge was trying to evaluate this absolutely gorgeous little lilac Abyssinian, one of the most delicate and ladylike looking cats I've ever seen, but the MOUTH on that cat! She was clearly blistering paint in Aby language - there was no question she was swearing like a dockhand.

All my cats talk, and all have their own distinct voices, but only Yankee sasses back when she gets yelled at.

...when my alarm goes off at 3:00 a.m., if I don't immediately open my eyes and get out of bed, he sits on my chest and pats my cheek with his paw until I do. He's quite anal about his humans sticking to routines. :P

27. My dear old Chester...
....who is about to pass from this world and undergoing "home hospice" right now was the pushiest cat, but not the most verbal. He would mumble a lot, but to really get my attention he would start wiggling pictures on the walls. He'd jump on furniture and swing a painting or print back and forth. Agh! And he broke every piece of pottery I ever owned by knocking it off its perch. So I stopped buying pottery.

Gee, I love that critter. He's the best pal I ever could have found.
