13. Being there for a dying friend & helping her daughter through it

Her daughter's therapist told me that, when my friend was dying, the therapist had the kid draw a picture of herself and write in the names of people in her support system - the adults in her world that were there for her.

She wrote in only three names - her mommy, me, and my S.O.

When they repeated the exercise a year later after my friend died and our church got involved, she actually had to tape on extra pages to accommodate all of the people who had entered their lives to help.

Right before she went, my friend sent me a card saying I was their Guardian Angel. My belief system says that we are the angels, devils, and that of God in this world. So that card commemorates my greatest accomplishment so far.

I was 28, and wrote most of both,and our young,legislative staff, together, wrote 100% of them .
