Did anyone here ever play "Acrophobia"?
The online game thread made me think of it.

It was a blast! A "roomful" of players were shown a series of letters and were asked to make up an acronym that matched the letters within a timeframe. Then all the players would rank the results. Top scorers would compete against each other for the big win.

The acronyms created were often hilarious and occasionally brilliant. The chat between players was entertaining too.

It was created by the folks who made "You Don't Know Jack". I think it went out of business a year or so ago.

Does anyone else remember this game? Is there anything out there like it?

I haven't found it.
There was a knockoff game online for a time, but that bit the dust too.

3. I remember...
I played it in 94 and 95 on IRC. Sometimes I did OK. It was a blast.

5. I was a regular in the 30-somethings room
Username WayLight.

I won a fair bit. The first time I played the other people in the room were all housewives who knew each other - when I let slip I was a guy I got pounced on.

It was a fun game while it lasted. It's back - http://www.uproar.com/games/multiplayer/
