(Scared me to tears almost. Hee hee hee)
Just turned fifteen years old and I was making a solo bus journey from Buffalo N.Y. to Sheffield, Alabama. Somewhere in the south, maybe Tennessee the bus I transferred too was crowded. It was night time and dark in the bus. I found one empty seat at the rear of the bus.
As I sat my tender self down in the empty seat the kind black lady in that seat next to the window said; "You can't sit here white boy." As I stood for the next couple of hundred miles I thought a lot about that.
