4. Never heard of this before--very compelling inner conflict for Hellboy!

I'd never heard of Hellboy before, but looks quite interesting.

Someone want to spoil me on it? How do things turn out in the comics (or are they still being written)? (I enjoy things better when I know how they end...sometimes people don't tell me! Argh!)

5. I've only read a few of them

All I remember is that Hellboy is taken in by the good guys as a child. I think he was the result of a Nazi occult ceremony that went wrong...instead of summoning up an evil bastard, they just summon up a good bastard. ;-) Good demon-boy joins the ranks of do-gooders, and mass mayhem follows.

The comic has been done as a series of minis over the years, so it's not exactly an ongoing. There is a new ongoing about the organization that he belongs to that they're pushing for the movie.

Hellboy the movie is being done by the director of Blade 2.

6. Those Nazis sure inspired a lot of comics, huh?

Hellboy, Wonder Woman....X-Men (well, Magneto's whole story)...

Guess it was interesting for writers when evil villains turned out to be actual people instead of make believe bogeymen. Sometimes that's scarier.
