Questions for all our Canadian DUers

I'm asking this seriously...In May I graduate with my bachelor of science in nursing (I've already been an RN for twenty years) and I'm trying to decide what to do after that...go on for a master's, etc. Something I've been seriously considering is moving to Canada. I know others probably think we should all stay here in the U.S. and fight the good fight but that's not for me. If and when Numbnuts is reselected in '04 this country will become intolerable. The civil liberties we still have been able to hold onto will be gone and I don't want to be here when that happens.

So my question is...anyone have any information on what nursing is like in Canada? There's a shortage everywhere, so I'm assuming there is one there too. How is the pay - can a nurse afford to make a decent living there? How are the working conditions? Do you know any Americans who have moved to Canada? Are they happy with the move or are they dying to get back to the U.S. Any inside info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. I can also be reached at [e-mail]. Thanks...gma

I've been around for a long time. Just stayed quiet. But I gotta get out of this place - Sturgeon Bay, WI. Green Bay Packers, deer hunting, snowmobiling, NASCAR, right-wing Xtians, cheese curds...I have to stop. I'm making myself ill.
