Question: Where did "Pickles" come from?

I first remember this nickname for Laura Bush on TT, I think. But I have no idea who coined her nickname. I sent my brother a link to a recent DU thread that referenced Pickles, and he was so intrigued that he called me long distance to ask about it.

Does anyone know where it came from?

It must have come from the reading of that book! Somebody pick(l)ed up on that and ran with it. That's all I can figure out.
