I guess you guys have found me out though - the cruel, mean, masterful, evil Khash facade is crumbling. And now you all know I'm just a big, soppy, sentimentalist at heart.

10. Negativland is

an East Bay art/rock group. Most of their work is "found" art - they take recorded speeches, sermons, statements and set them to music.


One of their best ever was "Over The Hiccups". One of the guys works in daycare and he recorded this little kid singing "Over The Rainbow". But the kid had the hiccups. It sounds lame, but it's hysterical and oddly touching.

Their most controversial was "Christianity Is Stupid" - a sermon edited and set to music. And it's the minister who says Christianity is stupid, not Negativland.Having made themselves persona non grata with that little stunt - they upped ante with "Helter Stupid" an album about how they were persecuted for that song. If you take it at face value it makes you angry, if you know the whole thing is a lie (they were never persecuted for that song) it's damn funny.

They are a difficult band because they assume you are intelligent. Something few musicians do nowadays.
