Exercise - which is better? |
|
Doing many small reps throughout the day? Or one long 30 minute session in the morning and do nothing for the remainder?
Given the bad shape my legs are in (trust me, it's not good), I'm thinking doing 3~5 minute jaunts on the elliptical trainer every hour for the next few days.
Every time I've approached my GP on the issue of starting an exercise regimen, he throws out vague advice - the same slobber found in any kindergartener-oriented book. (so why do people get told to see their GP all the time? Seems a waste of money, given the cost of one session...)

1. Have you ever tried Hindu Squats? |

No weights just deep knee bends until you poop out.
You can do them any time any place.
As for me I hit the weights (full body which lasts about 40 minutes) every other day and stretch (legs and abdomen for about 20 minutes) on alternate days. On all of those days I do the Hindu Squats which are making a REAL difference in the legs.
EDIT: I should add that I use an elliptical machine about three times a weeks for about 15 minutes a shot after i do a full body workout with mostly dumbbells.

2. Listen to your instincts |

Be careful not to overdo it. It's better to start under your capacity and gradually work up to and slightly beyond that limit than to injure yourself.
