Oklahoma fires
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 09:39 PM by lizziegrace
I know some of you aren't all that fond of the Sooner state, but I have family there. Anyone else following the fires closely? Any of you in the path?

Be safe.

1. We drove through from K.C. to DFW Friday night,
and the stink was horrible. Tonight, I can smell smoke from my back door.

Sorry I didn't get in touch with you, we were slammed. I'll be back soon, since my kids are still there. :hi:

8. Me too. Smells bad here in Austin--like every house is using
their fireplace. I've got my air purifier going. :(

3. My sister and her family are in Tulsa County
They can smell smoke at their house, but so far, the county seems to be okay. Counties around aren't so lucky.

11. Why thank you!
No, we're fine. The ones a few weeks ago were a lot closer. They were actually burning all around us then, I mean literally. Now, they're burning in other areas, but it only takes a little wind to spread these things to the super dry grass, and you got yourself a big problem.

4. My son's GF lives there
He just talked to her. She is FREAKED out. The fires are all around her. Not close enough for her to evacuate, but close enough to be scary.

13. Okay, too close this time
My sister said there was a fire a mile from their house last night. They've been watering the grass and shrubbery but it's bone dry and an ember can travel so far when the winds are gusting. :scared:
