ATTENTION GopisEvil! I have another injury!!!! However, |
|
not to out-do the dislocated knee due to contact with the dog's behind, the hot glue gun incident OR falling down the stairs, this appears to be a sort of IUO. (Injury of Uknown Origin)
In other words, I know that my increased work-outs at the gym brought it on, but the injury itself is quite vague and just an achey ouchie, don't move the shoulder like *that* type. To be precise, MY SHOULDER HURTS.
I wanted to keep you up to date on the maladies of Radwriter0555, the RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) notwithstanding. All in all, at the moment I'm doing well, (KNOCK ON WOOD) and getting rather buff from 4 hours in the gym every week.
And how are YOU?

1. I'm well. I have kicked the tonsilitis. |
|
I've jut gotten back from the gym myself. My legs are sore from lifting yesterday, but no worries.
My shoulder gets like that sometimes, too. Usually when it's cold and dry. It's the reason I don't run; I get a pinched nerve when I run in addition to the shoulder.

2. Yikes, I'm THINKING of taking up very gentle running. I can do it in |
|
relative privacy on a friend of mine's island in the bay. There are no cars or sidewalks, just a nice, flat dirt path.
Maybe once a week or so, or something. Maybe.
Do you get the pinched nerve in the upper or lower back?

3. I do walk on a dirt path in one of the parks from time to time. |
|
I have to admit it's nice.
The pinched nerve feels like it's in the middle of my left shoulder.

4. Hmmm, have you thought about getting with a coach of some sort of running |
|
professional who can help you change your technique to prevent that? It must be that you're holding something incorrectly.
Also, chiropractic. The source of a LOT of arm / hand elbow indeterminate pain is directly associated with the upper/cervical vertebrae and their alignment or lack thereof.
I always recommend the Activator method, as it's far, far more gentle and less aggressive than the torsion technique.

5. Well, I get an effective cardio workout on the elliptical machines. |
|
It's only an issue when I run, and I only run when something large and hairy is chasing me. ;)
But I will consider having a doctor look into things when I'm insured again.
