Can you believe this? Call me stupid.
I went to work this morning and did not realize that the office was closed. I forgot that today was considered a holiday. I woke up, got dressed and went to the office. Since my hours are 7 to 4, I have to sign in. I started to sign in and saw that the sheet was dated Jan. 3. OK, then I looked on the bulletin board where the year's holidays were posted and saw that I was not supposed to be there.

1. Hey, it coulda been worse.
you could've gotten into a car accident on your way into work...on a day you didn't even need to be there.

Hope your commute wasn't too bad.

Enjoy your day off!

:hi:

4. The commute could have been better, but it poured rain
on the way back. It wasn't raining on the way into the office, but when I left, it really started coming down. Fortunately, I only have to drive 30 miles round trip. Well, at least I won't have to deal with driving home this afternoon in the thunderstorms that are predicted to hit.

2. Yeah I can believe it.
I had to go into the office last night just to check the schedule to make sure I was off today.

3. I've done that.
Went to work on a Good Friday. I was dropped off at the office, and nobody there. I had no cab fare, and the bus service from the burbs back to the city is virtually nonexistent. It took six hours to walk home.

5. That must have been an awful experience.
It's bad enough going into the office and then find out you didn't have to and then not have a way home. Well, at least I have a car, but it wasn't a pleasant drive back home because it was pouring rain and it was still dark.

6. You get some strange looks as a pedestrian out there.
And I had to soak in epsom salts to get my legs working again.
