Fellow Californians: Are you ready for the sun???? Jeez.....
On our end, in the Santa Cruz mountains, we've logged in yet another 3 inches of rain in the past 24 hrs and it's still coming down. I love a good storm, but I must say, I'm ready for the sun, after a solid week of rain.

Who's with me?

1. How about us sun-deprived Swiss?
Where we live, we have no direct sun (because of the mountains) until sometime in March. I'm with ya, gf!

2. OMG, you have my sympathies.
I was reading recently about some small European town (whose name and country escapes me) that hooked up a bunch of mirrors to catch the sun so that they wouldn't have to deal without it for so long. Very expensive, but clever. They also had the mountain issue going on.

Have you heard of that?

Jeez, March. I can't imagine.....

Hang in there and SHINE ON in whatever way you can!

But they can't raise the money for the project, sadly.

7. Amen..we dfo need it.. and with my new roof, I am happy as a clam
no more kamikaze furniture moving when the ceiling sprang yet another leak:)..I once had to move a huge sofa by myself at 3 am, when I got dripped on:)

The only thing I hate about a lot of rain, is when the brush fires start up and there's tons of new stuff to burn..

Just wish there was some way to capture all the water..

Good luck. :)

Very strange weather for So Cal. I do see the sun... somewhere behind the clouds... I swear I see it.

(On edit... after reading mike-c's post, I'm counting my blessings in the electricity department.)

12. I think we should help out our friends in OK and TX
Let's all collect rain from today's storm and ship it FedEx to the parched folks in those states. :P

Here in Contra Costa, we're getting more rain today than we had yesterday. Arrgh!

13. We could use some, too
Here in Pittsburgh, we seem to be perpetually overcast from November through March. And today it's POURING. At least it's not snowing. I vote we get together and send all our rain to Texas and Oklahoma.

15. Hi, Shine
Have you got power? I'm running off a generator here and I honestly don't expect to get power back any too soon. It went out at about 6 on Saturday morning (which means I can honestly say that I've had no power all year).

Yeah, I'm sick of it. The whole no power thing isn't that big a hassle for us because we have a generator and a wood stove as well as a propane camp stove to cook on but this rain is just getting out of hand. 17 is a mess - that road is so poorly designed that the water just pools on it in big deep puddles.

Sorry I still haven't gotten the pic up, by the way. The last two weeks have been so crazy at work (I sold so much booze it's ridiculous) and now I'm typing in the dark. ~sigh~ It WILL happen, though, honest!

18. Hi Skygazer!
Yeah, we got power, thank goddess. It flickered a bit on Xmas day, but other than that, we've been fine, just a bit water-logged.

And please, no need to apologize about the pix. No biggie. Just get to it whenever it works, really. It's great you know how to do that stuff, since I'm a bit challenged in that dept.

Happy New Year to you, gf!! :loveya: May this year bring you much Happiness, Fulfillment and Peace. I know it's gonna be a big one for you, with your daughter getting married.

Did you find a red dress yet for the wedding, mother of the bride??? :)

xo,
Shine

16. SAD has set in. Seriously.
The weather, a hard drive crash and rampaging blood glucose have me physically and emotionally sick today.

Where the hell is the sun?
