My Criminal Procedure professor died on New Year's Eve |
|
I don't know how to feel. My grade in his class was the worst I received in law school, and he could be a real jerk sometimes. But he died at 65 of lung cancer after never having smoked, which completely sucked, and I do respect him as a teacher and scholar. Sigh.

I experienced a lot of conflicting and confusing emotions with some of my professors.
Quick story - - -
My first experience with a semi-cruel professor was in a Con-law class during undergrad. He was giving us a taste of the "real deal" and bit my head off. He was old and cranky - - - a retired lawyer. This was in about 1986.
Fast forward - - - A couple of months ago I went to a grocery store that I do not frequent and was passing by an aisle. I saw a man walking away with his back to me. I immediately recognized that it was HIM! The SOB must be 90 years old now.
I swung around to the next aisle and came down his. I asked him if he was a lawyer, and he replied, "guilty." I introduced myself and told him that he had been my professor, that I went on to law school, bla bla bla. He said, "Did I jump down your throat in class?" I laughed and said, "Yes, but I probably deserved it." He replied, "I had a tendency to do that once in a while," smiled and shook my hand.
It was a weird experience for me.
