Next new West Wing is the VP debate?
That's what they're advertising on NBC.com: http://www.nbc.com/The_West_Wing

Do you think they'll go ahead and air it since it would have been all about Leo on that episode? Perhaps they'll "kill off" his character after the debates or something. Aw man, too sad to even think about! :(

3. Doesn't matter what I think. They'll probably throw up a slide before

or after the show (or both) memorializing John Spencer, and then the show will go on.

There are still 4-5 more shows after the "Running Mates" episode with Leo already in them. It's what happens to the rest of the episdoes not yet in the can that are up for debate, so to speak.

4. I didn't realize there were that many already "in the can"
But you'd be right. They're usually done filming way before the end of the season, with the odd exception being a clifhanger ending where they want to keep it super secret, like a series finale or something.

5. They can't kill him off
He appeared in the flash forward scene that takes place a few years after the current election.

6. No he didn't
it was widely reported that he was in the flash forward, but the media was...gasp...wrong. Only Bartlet, CJ, Danny, Toby, Will, Josh and Kate were in it.

7. Really?
I'm remembering wrong. I was thinking it would be nice if they somehow didn't have to kill off the character.

8. You're right
I was just getting ready to agree with Lavender Brown, but now that I think back on it, you're absolutely right. Also, as you pointed out, Toby was back in the picture, so I wonder how they're going to work that out. Well, he wasn't exactly "in the picture" politically, but I doubt the "leaker" would be at the dedication of the Bartlett Library. So, as I've suspected all along, Toby isn't the real leaker, but is covering for someone.

10. Bartlet asks him about Columbia
and Toby responds "it wasn't a bad place to spend some time" ...which, at the time sounded odd, like he wasn't talking about Columbia University. Now I'm guessing that's the jail he spends some time in. ;) Which means he's out in 3 years.

9. Now that you've mentioned it...I checked the transcript...
...not only is Leo not there...there is NO Mention of him. Considering the secrecy over the outcome of the next election in world of "The West Wing"...no surprise there.
