Instead of glamorizing depression, let's glamorize asthma!!!!
The pale, pasty complexion, the paranoia and jitteriness from the meds, the fear of potential allergens, the vast array of pills and inhalers, the plumpness from a combination of too many steroids and too little excercise, the chronic crankiness and tiredness....

:sarcasm:

I think it's hard to frame a nasty rash as a good thing....

10. IMO it's hard to frame depression as a good thing, but there was
a whole thread that tried to say it had been glamorized. I'm still going: :wtf:

In the real world--such as, for example, the world in which I live--the idea never even registered, let alone took hold. If the media tried to glamorize it, they did a piss-poor job.

14. If you listen to a lot of music from the '90's,
virtually all the artists were terribly depressed, on heroin, or both.

I think it's a valid claim.

9. But, but, but I never got a chance to be glamorous even though
I have depression AND diabetes. Now I have to get asthma, too? Geez, I'll never be "in." What does one have to contract these days to be glamorous?

(BTW, great pic. You look very, um...what's the word I'm looking for? I know it begins with a "G"...)

17. You're totally glamorous!!!!
And in the interests of full diclosure, that picture was taken when I had mono, and not during an asthmatic episode. But I felt pretty crappy nevertheless. I'm usually pale, but I'm extra pale there.)

I find Albuterol to be a zingy taste.

Maybe, if a rumor were started via a planted news story about
how inhaler users are good kissers... or something.

31. I'm actually pretty healthy now
Due to the miracle of Singulair. I haven't been to the hospital in over 5 years (for asthma).

But there were about 20 years there of feeling crappy. :P

Hope you're under control...

32. Yes I am pretty good now. Thanks.
But growing up on a farm and being allergic to mold spores in plowed soil was a killer. Once I moved away from that I got better. But I'm not on any inhalers at all. Seem to do fine.
