So I said "Can you help me out just a little."
Stack some wood, please.

I've been stacking wood all by myself for weeks.
The stack was 4 foot high in most places.
So my house mate stacked for an hour yesterday. He even started a second row.
Guess what?
The wood fell last night.
All my work for nothing.

1. Uh-oh!
You got the kind of help that results in even more work for you. I'm sorry.

3. ...
That is exactly why I rarely ask for help.
Last year when I ask the same house mate to add some water to the birdbath. He broke the bath by trying to empty the old water out first. He didn't realize that it was frozen to the ground. I don't like the new bath as much because it is far too shallow. I intend to repair the old one.

10. yes that's what he wants you to do
i don't know what a house mate is in this case but the sexual services being provided had best be extraordinary if he is not going to do anything around the house

there are lots of men out there, many of them competent

why put up w. it?

14. The fresh air is good for me.
When I can drag myself away from DU (which isn't often) I find stacking wood is one of the more peaceful ways of passing time.

As to sexual services there isn't any of that going on between any of my house mates.

Yes, there are "lots of men out there". I am looking.

15. Hey merh!
I know you'd help.
So would lots of my DU friends.
Unfortunately  everyone lives hundreds of miles away.
It's difficult just getting together for drinks never mind setting up a work party.

He's really very good at this kind of thing! And...he's "got wood!"

8. he's playing passive aggressive games
he knows he did a shitty job

tell him to stack 'em again

why do men do that? maybe because it works and he knows you won't kick the bum out?

i think it's a little unfair to expect us to be the bad mommy and have to issue orders but he is just going to have to stack again, sheesh

18. I figured that one out years ago.
However I refuse to be the bad mommy.
It was so much easier to become MINO.
The perks can be good if you look at it the right way.
There are difficult spots as there will always be with personal relationships.
But Honestly - he is a nice guy that is one helluva klutz.

It happens. It sucks when it does  but it's not the worst thing.
BTW ~ I'll be missing from DU a bit more while I take care of the woodpile and a few other problems that's been left for me to straighten out.

22. Great idea!
However ~ he needs a different teacher.
My words fall on deaf ears when I'm talking in that direction.
And that's not a joke.
My other house mate can say the same words at the same volume and he hears her.
We've learned to laugh about (but not ignore) his selective deafness.

On my end this morning, I was just jolted awake by a 3.1 earthquake. It was quick and a bit scary, however the kids are still sleeping....weird, huh?

26. OMG! What a rude way to wake up!
I complain about the winters, here in the NE, but earthquakes must be infinitely scarier. We had one, several years ago, though doubt it was as bad as this, and my dog and I were scared witless!
:scared:
