4. I'm working on hot drinks now |
|
It's been cold and wet and windy and wild here. And it's my day off so I feel entitled. I think a Skygazer is in order. That is -
cup of hot chocolate 1/2 shot of Kahlua 1/2 shot of Bailey's splash of Stoli Vanilla
Mmmmmmm.........

13. That's old Royal Navy custom. |
|
and is actually about 11 a.m.
The yard-arm was a horizontal mast at the front of the ship, when the sun had risen to be above the yard-arm the first rum ration was given out. When sailors were on land they kept to the tradition of not drinking before that time - hence the phrase.
Personally I rarely drink before lunch, and then rarely drink again until evening.

If you have to ask others for permission then maybe you shouldn't be drinking in the first place. :)

The holidays were a crazy blur of major work, little sleep and a lot of stress. My power was out from 6 am Saturday morning until about 3 this morning so I've been dealing with generators and extension cords and camp stoves and oil lamps - all stuff I enjoy if I'm camping or something but not real relaxing for just being at home.
So today I've finally got a day off, the power's on and I'm going to kick back with a drink and relax...

Is it OK to have a drink after work, at 7:00 AM?
Personally, I hardly ever have a drink until after awakening.

Drinking while asleep is a waste of good booze.

16. It's okay to drink anytime. |
|
It's always 5pm somwhere. Not to mention, folks who say you shouldn't drink early in the morning are often up drinking past midnight. Which is really really early in the morning.
I have my 1st drink of the day with breakfast. I always have a shot of brandy in my coffee.

You don't expect people to stop drinking just because the new day has officially begun, do you? Especially not now that the curfew has been lifted in most of New Orleans, including the French Quarter...
