The RetroLounge Daily Poem Thread (Wed 1/4/06)
Edited on Wed Jan-04-06 08:52 AM by RetroLounge
A Drink With Something In It

There is something about a Martini,
A tingle remarkably pleasant;
A yellow, a mellow Martini;
I wish I had one at present.
There is something about a Martini,
Ere the dining and dancing begin,
And to tell you the truth,
It is not the vermouth--
I think that perhaps it's the gin.

Ogden Nash

**************************

Hey, they don't always have to be so heavy and depressing.

This one made me smile. :D

:hi:

5. You can use either gin or vodka.
Though gin is traditional, I think. My grandmother drank martinis...:D

8. Here you go! A drink for the mid-week!
I like this little bit of poetry from Dorothy Parker:

I love to drink martinis,
Two at the very most,
Three, I'm under the table,
Four, I'm under the host.

Glad to see you smiling today, my dear RetroLounge! You made me smile, too.....

I'm sorry I missed it yesterday. That was (forgive me) cathartic.
