It's time to get something off my chest.......
Last nite DanCa made the hugh admission to liking Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond.

I can no longer ignore my 'inner musical self' and know that I must come out of the closet in order to bask in the light of truth!

So - here goes....................................

Ok, Ok, Ok - I know I can do this.

I (sob) used to adore (sniffle) Englebert Humperdinck.

Am I still allowed in the Lounge?

1. I think there's a support group for that
:silly:

My mom always played him when I was growing up. When I hear him at the doctor's office or in a restaurant, I always have the urge to sing along.

8. What? A movie you haven't seen!?!?!
OMG!

Seriously, I can't even remember what it was called... I think it
was titled after one of his songs.

Apparently, his family wanted him to be a Cantor instead of a Pop-singer.
He had a falling out and divorce with his wife and later married a different woman.

It was interesting and I guess made during the late 1970's... I'll have to look it
up sometime.

9. Well I was made in the late 70's too! That might
be why I can't remember seeing it! ;)

I just sent you a telegram over at the NationStates.

10. Ah, here it is...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080948/ "The Jazz Singer" (1980)

Ah, it wasn't autobiographical... Heh, well... That's nice to know. ;)

4. I not only like Barry Manilow, but I've seen him live in concert.
And I bought a shirt. My friends made terrible fun of me, but he put on an outstanding show!:woohoo:

And I'd do it again. So there.:P

There are a lot of us out there, and it's long past time we all came out of the closet...:hi:

7. I kinda like Englebert as well....
Although, I think DanCa is kinda out in the wilderness with the Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond stuff...:D

Although, in the spirit of full disclosure, I must admit to liking certain Neil Sedaka tunes. & The Carpenters. & Bread.

Mock me also, if you must.

I have (metaphorically) thick skin.
