Did anyone see ESPN's special on 2005 USC? |

That was by far the stupidest thing I've ever seen. First of all, it's a little premature to be comparing 2005 USC to the greatest teams ever when they haven't won anything yet. Secondly, the predictions from Herbstreet and May were outrageous. There is no way that 2005 USC would have even been competitive with '01 Miami, much less defeat them as Mark May predicted. I was shocked at how a lot of the great teams like '94 Penn State, '02 Ohio State, or '97 Michigan were dismissed as standing no chance against 2005 USC. This USC team almost lost to a pathetic Notre Dame team that can't stop anyone on defense and had to win a nailbiter against mighty Fresno State, so I have a hard time believing that they are the 2nd greatest team of all time.
And why wasn't 2004 USC even mentioned? This 2005 team isn't even better than their predecessor who actually played some defense

1. ESPNs verbal fellation of USC is getting old. |
|
Yeah, we get it, they're a great team.

2. I knew they were going to do this-USC "Third straight" national Champ |
|
Well not really. Pretty much everyone I KNOW considered LSU to be THE national Champs two years ago. Now I see that that is forgotten and it was all USC all the time even then.
