36. Thanks for the informative reply.
I haven't heard of your friend though that doesn't mean anything. I wish him a good reception wherever he goes. I've been playing pre-war influenced fingerstyle blues only I tend to really beat it out with my right hand. Ever heard of Rory Block? She's a killer blues player and will scare the daylights out of you with her ferocity. She hasn't been doing straight blues sets for a long time. She usually opens with a blues or two and then goes into her singer/songwriter thing which I think is generally okay.

Have you ever heard Planxty or the Bothy band? They were in the vanguard during the '80s of playing really old, trad Irish stuff like it was rock 'n' roll, albeit acoustically, not like the Wolftones or that band that did some stuff for the Titanic, I think it was, soundtrack.

For what it's worth, my favorite plugged in folk band that straddled rock are Steeleye Span, especially with Martin Carthy on guitar and Fairport Convention with Richard Thompson who I really like.

Ta.

66. Ah, Little Musgrave.
A great version they do, featuring Christy Moore's rich baritone. Though I'm not usually one for cautionary songs, I do like what they do with it. Likewise, Doc Watson does a fine version of Matty Groves on an early album. Same song for all intents and purposes.

63. Are you refering to this?
The name of BLOOD, anciently written Bloyd, is derived from the Welsh Ap-Lloyd, meaning "son of Lloyd." It is found on ancient British and early American records in the various forms of Ap-Lloyd, Ap-Llud, Ap-Loyd, Ployd, ap Lloyd, Bloyd, Blud, Blude, Bloude, Bloud, Bloode, Blod, Blode, Blood, and others, of which the last spelling mentioned is that form most generally used in America today.

When an Irishman says "Hows the Craic",
It just means how are you, good ,bad, shity.
The usual saying is"the craic was ninety" meaning having a very good time....not taking crack.
Hope this explains it a bit better.

98. Hello Gray
Simple answer I work for the Government,a civil servant.
Low wage and no fun. When I go to work I switch off.I enter my password then register people who think they have a disability, usually liars. All you have to say now is that you are an alcoholic.
Now classified as a disease......I agree that it is but to many people are taking advantage.
All very boring.
By the way I liked your picture, you remind me of someone but I cant quite place it.
I had bad news over the weekend. My sister died.the family is hurting a lot.
I might not be on for a while but I will be back.
So take care and I'll aee you later.
