Need I Pod help!

Why wont the drag & drop function work. I have music files in Limewire, that show up in ITunes. I followed the instructions on the IPod website and it wont work. It wont import files or folders either by going to "File" or using the "Add to library feature.
This is making me feel like a fucking idiot.
Does anyone know any tricks with IPods?
