It's January 4th. Time to stock up on swim suits and flip flops. |
|
I stopped at a store over my lunch break and the first display I see is a bin full of flip flops. I walk a little more, and lo and behold, a rack of swim suits.
Now, I understand fashion overlords would like us to buy their things early. I've never quite understood how that worked, but then I've never cared enough to find out either.
I do know that the last thing I want to shop for and try on in the middle of a Wisconsin winter, mild as this one is this week, is a swim suit. Unless I'm going on a tropical getaway, which I'm not.
Was this the thought process that brought this on? Gee, I've got it! People are just ready to start their 'New Year's Diets!' Let's give them the motivation by promoting our swimwear. They don't need to buy any more sweaters this season. It's already January for chrissakes! Get with it!
Thank you, Marketing Jocks, for your confounding logic--you will always provide me with things to ponder.
