7. That depends...
It's not bob veal is it? I like the milk-fed, crated, unmoving, forever suffering kind. Hold the foie gras, though. I'm trying to watch the calories, k?

11. Oh, okay - then it's really win-win situation -
we get to kill some people who need it, AND we'll still have cats aplenty for huntin' and hat makin' and curry.

Personally, I think she would be a great choice for president! She's the only person even worth nominating for 2008!

...in a cage just like a parakeet.

22. My cat had to choose between declawing or being fixed.
He chose declawing.
I saved the couch from being torn to shreds, but boy does it smell of urine.

because otherwise I don't get your point. I'm sure that the cat didn't CHOOSE to be declawed.

31. Really! Declawed = Inside 24/7.
No way in hell I would allow a declawed cat to venture outside.
I see no problem with de-clawing a cat as long as the owner agrees to de-fingernailing without painkillers..........

Declawers, imo, are worse than people who let their cats out in relatively quiet areas.

30. Hey you stole my kitties!
I have a whole tribe of kitties that look just like that. The gray tabby must be a dominant gene around here, as the mothers very seldom give birth to anything but gray tabbies.

33. Tabby's don't get too big do they?
These guys are about 1 1/2-2 years old and they are on the smaller side. I never owned cats before so I don't know much about them. Do they live as long as a regular cat?
I know tabby's are real suck ups- look what happened after two months living with the dog pack!

Buddy, the dog in the lower part of the photo ran around looking for the cats when a story about abused cats was running on the tv tonight. He was concerned his kitties were in trouble!

34. Most of mine are on the small side,
Now the occasional male will get big, but i don't get to see many of the males, as i tend to get rid of(give away)most of them to avoid inbreeding depression.

Looks like my cats and dogs. I have a female boxer that almost always has a cat in her mouth. She is never mean or hurtful to them, she just likes to carry them around, and lick them to death.

Looks like a happy family. :)

25. Actually i see it as the opposite.
Having had my freedom taken from me i can never lock anything up and keep it indoors or on a chain. I have heard stories of cats in high rise buildings getting so frustrated from never getting to go out they have been know to leap to their death. Even to the extreme of breaking the window.

People( a lot of them) around here always talk of how you should treat animals ethically, and pretty much give them the same consideration as people. Which in turn leads me too the question, would you keep a human locked indoors with no freedom?

Dogs can handle it much better than the poor kitties can. Oh and Btw all my kitties are free range. Even dogs suffer serious stress from total confinement, and can become very destructive without the proper attention and outside play.

With all that being said. I can see the concern of folks in congested urban areas. It's a rough call.

Good luck testing the mods ;)

26. I still don't believe in the death penalty.
It can never be applied equitably. People would be MUCH more likely to get the death penalty for letting a white cat outside than they would be for a black cat. And this doesn't even begin to address the complexities posed by tabbies and calicos... :eyes:

27. People who drive should as well.
Have you ever tallied up the dead along the roadside. Sure they are rabbits and opposums but they have mothers too.
Me, I let both my cats outside when they have a whim. I also let my six dogs run free.

Here is Angel enjoying a well earned snack in the form of Peter the dead rabbit.

Remember, folks, around half all all fatal accidents are caused by sober drivers! Friends don't let friends drive... period.
