Remember The Kid Who Admitted He Hit My Truck?
Edited on Thu Jan-05-06 12:13 AM by Ripley
Nice Kid. Knocked on my door and said "Sorry Mam I backed into your truck."

His PAYING DAD IS AN ASSHOLE and won't.

Can't trust anything alive.

Oh yeah, expect the Cop Sent to be young, and easy.

Joke.

1. Time to talk to insurance agent
I remember the kid, too bad his father doesn't follow his lead and do what is right. I am glad the kid doesn't do what his parent does. If you can find the kid, tell him he was brave and thanks. Hopefully the parent hasn't convinced the kid to lie to the insurance co. Good luck.

6. Thanks for changing that.
Good luck and hope you get something out of them at least via the insurance co and/or cops if they won't do what is right on their own.

3. What you should have done was to call the police while the kid
was there and file a report. Otherwise, I don't think you will have a chance in hell of having the insurance company or the father pay.

4. my sister slid on ice and rear ended a car
no big damage, just cosmetics. no one was injured and they both drove away after exchanging info. the guy calls the house and says he's got a quote for $800, so my sis and her husband write a check for cash. end of story, right?...wrong

a few weeks later they get a call from their insurance company. the guy filed a claim on his $800 quote. their insurance paid rather than investigate or fight, so being nj and all, their rates went up.

5. I had wondered if the Dad would pay..
same type of situation here with a neighbor..except it was just a broken garage window. Kid knocked at door and apologized uphill and downhill. We weren't angry or even upset for that matter..until his Dad called cussing and swearing at my husband. He said he'd pay for the window..it's been 3 yrs. I am keeping the plywood over the broken pane just to remind him.

Good luck Ripley. I feel kinda sorry for the kid..you tried to be kind about it and his Dad has to be an ass..
