Target sells memory card with nudie pix...buyer traumatized for life

It's not the first time someone has been surprised to find some fleshy pics on their electronics, and it certainly won't be the last. Aleta Kelley of Tucson was, quote "shocked I mean absolutely shocked, there is no other word" to find nearly 80 nude and graphic photos of a middle-aged woman on her supposedly new memory card she purchased at Target. Apparently in preparation for her bizillion-dollar lawsuit, she goes on spewing, "to me this is traumatizing, for my daughter this was traumatizing. It's horrifying to think if my granddaughter had gotten this." Of course you know what this means don't you? Target memory card sales are about to skyrocket!

1. That's "brazillion-dollar lawsuit"
Or maybe BRA-zillion, judging by the content of the article...

2. I was shocked! Shocked!
I had to review it several dozen times to be sure how shocked I should be.

Yes, once someone knows what nipples look like, her life is pretty much over.

I can see being irritated at being given a used card and maybe a bit amused by the content, but shocked? I mean, it is not as if there were pictures of fisting.

7. Yes... the fact that a used card was sold as new would be my problem.
Not the content.

9. Restocks are common in retail.
If someone buys and returns and item, and the item is working properly, it's fairly common for the item to be put back on the shelf. It's one of the reasons why stores ask you if the item was defective when you return something.

FWIW, a friend of mine once bought a DVD player from WalMart that had a DVD inside already. The player had apparently been returned and the first buyer forgot to take their movie out (not porn). He took the player back himself (kept the movie though) and got another.

11. I know...
I still wouldn't like buying something "new" that was actually "used."

8. Hmmmpf...
Are you sure it wasn't pictures of a finger in a bowl of chili?

If I were Target... I'd check the watermarks on those pictures. Sort of
like what caught the BTK guy.

10. I had a similar problem at Guitar Center
Edited on Thu Jan-05-06 01:22 PM by eeyore
I bought a DJ mixing station, ostensibly new and guaranteed as such by the employee. I stupidly took their word for it, and when I opened it up at home it had no manuals and was missing some cords. I took it back and told them to get me a new one, which of course they didn't have in stock and would have to ship from Seattle.

When I got the second unit, the "new" box contained a reciept from another store in Seattle, and a handful of change - obviously another return. When I went to take it back they gave me all kinds of shit and I had to go up a couple of management levels to get them to order me a truly new one.

It literally took me a solid month to buy a truly new unit from Guitar Center.:grr:

On the plus side, like Target, they will take returns on most anything without a reason in the world.

The woman from Target has a right to complain about the "newness" of her card, but she needs to get over her outrage and trauma over seeing another grown woman naked. Fucking Puritan needs a head check!
